National U.S. Race Walk Champion Miranda Melville prepares for Road to Rio with new Crowd Funding Campaign

(Rush, NY, 04/15/2016) Miranda Melville who is ranked #28 in the World after her 7th place finish with a PR of 1:31:42 a few weeks ago in Nomi Japan, and will represent the USA in Rome, Italy, on May 7th in the IAAF World Team Championships of Race Walking, has launched a new crowdfunding campaign to help finance her bid to the Rio Olympics.

Miranda who won first place last July and the U.S. 20K title by defeating 2012 Olympian Maria Michta-Coffey in the women's 20km race walk at the USATF Outdoor Championships in Eugene, OR, said, ” I wish I could say that this road to Rio has been one that was financially stress free, but as any track and field athlete knows, this is not the case.”

Melville holds the American Record in the 5000m indoor RW and has 8 national championship titles.
